NASCAR Is Ready for Talladega
On April 25, Talladega Superspeedway welcomes its annual NASCAR event.
What was once a patch of soybean for farming, along with a couple of abandoned airports, Talladega became the biggest speedway in the U.S.. The site covers 2000 acres. The hero of this track was always been Dale Earnhardt. So far, his son, Dale Jr. has not had the luck of his father.
Talladega will be sold out, and that’s a lot of tickets to be sold. The stadium holds 143,231 people. The all-reserved infield holds thousands more seats. It is sure to be a great race, especially with the interesting standings with the racers. Presently Jimmie Johnson leads the pack once again. He has three wins out of seven races. He is followed by Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. sits in the top 10 at the tenth place. It is also interesting to see young Joey Logano doing well this season. The racer, not even of legal age, has achieved this through his pure driving skills. He knows how to drive his car. He knows how to stay out of trouble. He is close to the top ten, presently in 11th position.
Before the Talledaga Number 9, Kasey Kahne has announced he will not be returning to Richard Petty Motorsports for the 2011 season. It is still not certain what Kahne will do for next season since he has signed with Hendrick Motorsports for the 2012 season. Kahne joined his present team in 2004.
