NASCAR Toyota/Savemart 350 Preview

On Sunday, June 20th, the NASCAR Sprint Cup series will once again return to the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma for the Toyota/SaveMart 350. The annual trip to Infineon is always exciting for drivers and spectators alike. The two things that make Infineon so unique are the specialists who show up to race and the fact that it is a road course.

Road course specialists always show up to race when NASCAR visits a road course. Being able to see all of the new faces is always a fun experience for fans, and it gives the NASCAR drivers some new competition as well. The road course specialists always want to prove how good they are, but there are some NASCAR drivers who absolutely excel on road courses, including Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, and Kasey Kahne, who won this race last year.

The Sprint Cup series only races two road courses a year, so it is a very unique experience. The biggest difference for drivers is that there are both right and left turns on a road course. Another thing that drivers have to get used to is shifting, which is not typically required at the oval tracks.

Taking all things into consideration, the races at Infineon are always exciting. The twists and turns always lead to exciting racing, and it is entertaining to see drivers that do not typically race in NASCAR. Tune in on Sunday, June 20th to see who manages to put everything together and claim victory at Infineon.
