Tony Stewart
Tony Stewart has been a solid driver in this league for more than 11 seasons now. Amazingly, in every single year of his career he has finished in the top 10, including 6 of those seasons with finishes in the top 5 in the overall points standings.
In two different years of his career he has finished as the top driver, winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup points standings. Stewart looks to add another one of these seasons this year but has a lot of work to do if he hopes to jump back to the top of the sport.
Stewart has had 3 finishes in the top 10 this season and 4 in the top 15, which are solid numbers, but has had two other races that have held him back from cracking into the higher levels of the points standings including a 26th place finish in his last race at Martinsville.
Stewart has only managed to lead for any period of time in 2 of the races so far this year and he needs to find a way to get towards the front of the race as much as possible in order to grab those extra bonus points as every point counts.
Stewart has struggled to take advantage of good poll position so far on the year and will need to capitalize on these advantages if he wants to improve his position in the standings. In his two best starting positions so far, Stewart has managed just 22nd and 26th place finishes.
